Competition Team Requirements:
Commitment to Team
- Attendance at all competition team workouts and special practices is mandatory. The only absences that will be excused are those due to illness, work commitments, school/grades and family commitments. Any excessive absences will be reviewed by the head coach and will be discussed with team members on an as needed basis.
- Competition Team Workouts are Monday and Wednesday 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. As we near tournaments, special practices will be added by Coach Carter and will be announced at least 48 hours in advance.
- We will be participating in five major tournaments during the 2007 season. It will be expected that the VTC competition team represent our school with the proper decorum and etiquette. It is also expected that unless you are in holding or fighting, you are in the stands cheering on your fellow team member. Unless specifically cleared with Coach Carter we will arrive as a team and leave as a team.
- Due to the number of athletes competing, there is the possibility that Coach Carter will not be able to sit in your chair at every fight. There will be two alternate coaches available to support the athletes. It is expected that you teach any alternate coach with the same respect and attention that you would give Coach Carter.
- As a member of the VTC competition team, you will be trained and educated in multiple coded steps, kicks and strategies. Do not share this information with anyone outside of the VTC competition team.
- As a member of the VTC competition team, you will be expected to carry yourselves with dignity and respect. You will set the examples for others to follow in the school during class. You may be called upon from time to time to aid in the instruction of other students or for demonstration purposes. Remember that the other students will follow your lead.
Standardization of Clothing and Gear
- The competition team will be uniform in appearance.
- Competition Tae Kwon Do Uniform (to be voted on by the team)
- Warm Ups and T-shirts
- Competition Gear
